Well, I've made it home from New Orleans. Six months away was enough. I had a great time being down there, but it's nice to be home. I stayed with a good friend who was kind enough to allow me to invade his home for six months, which kind of took me back to my bachelor days. All in all this was a really nice activation, because it was so close to home. I was able to come home on most of my days off, which helped. Here's some more photos from the mission.
I thought that I'd drop a quick hello for New Orleans. I don't have too much time to spend on the computer these days. Everything is going pretty well down here (unless you're one of the unlucky souls that gets shot every day or so.) Life is very cheap down here. Here are a few photos for your viewing pleasure. Until next time.... Adios
Well, it seems as though I've managed to abstain from any posting for over a month now (That must be some type of record.) I have actually been fairly busy over the past month. Annie and I have been busy trying to get her salon and spa, up and running, which is proving to be pretty time consuming and expensive. But, hopefully it will all pay off in the end. We're getting pretty close to finishing up. I believe that all we have left is to have signs made and install her shampoo bowl. I'll be glad when it's all done and over with. I really don't have anything exiting going on right now. I spend most of my time praying for a very inactive hurricane season. I'm a rapid responder with my unit in New Orleans, which means that I'm on call 24/7, and should a hurricane pop up in the gulf, chances are that I'll have to uproot and go to Camp Beauregard to wait a couple of days to see what the storm decides to do. I just hope that nothing comes close to New Orleans. I'm still amazed at how different New Orleans is post Katrina. It doesn't even feel like the same place, although there is progress being made. Well, I have to run. I've got some pick ups to make. Talk to ya'll in a moth or two. (Or maybe not.)
In keeping with tradition, here's another picture to brighten your day.
Buenos dias. Well, Annie and I have managed to spend all kinds of money over the last couple of days. It's actually kind of invigorating. It's sort of like running yourself headfirst into a brick wall. It lets you know that you're still alive. No, it's not that bad. We are buying all the things that she needs in order to get her business up and running. So, it's actually more of an investment. We are making our largest purchase tonight. We're buying her that "Microdermabrasion Machine" that she's been wanting. We've found one on ebay that we're hoping to get. It's a really good deal, although still very expensive. Now we just have to find a place to store all of this stuff. That's the hard part. Our massive apartment of 500 Sq. feet doesn't exactly offer a lot of storage space. Alright, I've gotta run. I don't even know what to think about this one?!? Do you think that they have rabies?
Wow, it's been a long time since I've been on here. My laziness knows no bounds. I haven't had anything too exciting happen over the past week or two. Pretty much just the same ol' things. Work, sleep, work some more, sleep a little less, a couple days off that go by really fast, and then repeat. What a vicious cycle. I feel like I need a vacation. I have two weeks saved up, but we are understaffed at work, so it doesn't look as though I'll be using those days any time soon. I've applied for a position with the Monroe Police Dept. which will be coming open this August, and I've been informed that I have a pretty good shot at being accepted, so I'm really trying to take my vacation before that time, just incase everything works out. I would hate to lose two weeks of vacation. However if I do get a vacation, it's very possible that I wouldn't leave my house for two straight weeks. (No, I'm not joking.) Well, I've got some rounds to make here at work. So until next time.... I'm Ron Burgundy, You stay classy San Diego.
I don't know what concert these guys are at, but I won't go to another one until I find out. This is the stuff nightmares are made of.
